A group from the New York School of Fine and Applied Art poses for a photo. The group appears to be on the deck of a large ship, with a funnel and the fend of a life boat in view. Students are en route to the school's Paris Ateliers location. According to a New York Sun newspaper clipping in the Parsons School of Design Alumni Association records (Scrapbook 1, page 22), the students disembarked on February 3, 1931.
