The impact of light on human psychological health during long-duration space expeditions is deeply significant but under-researched. For space pioneers to successfully extend the future of our civilization in extreme, isolated and unfamiliar environments, the technical, experiential, and poetic tools of lighting design must be utilized in conjunction with biological and health research.
