Description
I never looked at what most would conventionally call art until I was at least nineteen years old. I get more excited about good special effects and record covers than I do seeing a Mondrian. I got into art because of the impact possible in visual and interactive culture, not because of classes I took or visiting museums. I grew up in a time that was about media and information. Now I live in a time of media/information as entertainment. It makes me believe that the world has become more surface, more superficial than I had previously thought. It makes me question the reasons images are put in front of us; is it for ratings, dissemination, propaganda, or just as DeBord say's "The spectacle is capital accumulated to the point that it becomes images."
