The goal of this thesis is to recount my efforts as a graduate student at Parsons in order to justify the claim that the act of photography represents far more than just a technical aspect of the larger discourse of photography by proposing the act itself possesses a distinct mode of communication. This mode, unique in every camera user provides new access to a multidimensional relationship between context, perception and interpretation.
