Parsons School of Design. Photography Department.
(sponsoring body)Daniel Durtsche
My time at Parsons could be characterized as a fluctuating path of ideas, working methods and mediums. After a couple of straight photographic series and a literal escape from the city, I returned in the winter of 2007 with a strong interest in exploring technology as a means of production. Thinking in terms of reality and one’s limitations of perception, I began a collaborative performance practice within the virtual world of Second Life, was using Google Maps and a GPS tracking system to make drawings, as well as scanning infrared light using a flatbed scanner.
