Description

Unseen Footprints is an art installation which brings microbes beneath our feet into human visual perception to raise people’s awareness of these microscopic inhabitants co-existing and commuting with us. By means of visual language pulled from archival pieces, this project reveals unseen creatures which are rarely considered through scientific and artistic means of investigation, inspiring curiosity and discovery about what coexists around us on a micro scale. Meanwhile, as the microbial interaction between humans and their surroundings impact the environmental ecology, it also acts as a prompt for viewers to reflect on their relationship with those microscopic citizens which belong to the same complex ecosystem as humans do.
