Description

“My Selves” is an art piece which consists three short animations to be displayed on three separate screens set side-by-side. The three looped animations are the extraction from the narrative I created base on my personal experience about being a female. Each animation depicts a mental stage of self-doubting, self-reflecting, and self-accepting. By showing how a female struggles to fit into stereotypes while feeling lost dealing with social expectations through her growth in persistent cycles with looped sequences, the project provides insights about stereotypes and female anxiety. I hope the piece can raise questions and help my audience to find ways to break the cycle of mindless following and striving for a peaceful acceptance of selves.
