Description

SixMed is a two-part service design solution consisting of Six- a prototype chatbot that connects New York’s uninsured, under-insured, and low-income community members to a database of free and sliding scale clinics and SixMed- a service proposal that leverages the chatbot interface to facilitate discovery of wellness resources beyond simple clinical care. SixMed’s ideology aims to address six key factors of overall wellness: body, mind, community, nutrition, and education/employment. The overarching goal is to provide greater access to preventative services that promote healthy lifestyles and circumvent the need for treatment. The project explore ways in which health tech can be adapted at an affordable price point to support communities that need it the most. The research addresses the following questions: How might service design improve the health care system? How might chatbot interfaces help facilitate access to preventative care resources for underserved communities?
