Description

The Shifter is an animated short film presenting a story about a selfish character and an unselfish character, and how a relationship reflects its surroundings. The story uses a power struggle to ask the audience to examine the balance between the two characters, and how the conditions of life affect that balance. The goal of the project is for viewers to understand the dynamic and ambiguity in a relationship, regardless of whether it is a romance, friendship, or kinship. The Shifter pursues an abstract style that is inspired by Norman McLaren, Chuck Jones and Kristian Pedersen. The animation is aimed at young adults who are interested in art films. The story requires some life experiences and story analysis to understand.
