Featuring more than 30 programs, Parsons the New School for Design has been providing its students with hundreds of school events in various areas. However, it still depends on outdated methodologies, such as event calendar, emails and posters, to broadcast the events. These methodologies show certain level of ineffectiveness in practice, and often cause Parsons students to miss valuable events that would otherwise benefit them. Therefore, it is imperative that some improvement on the information system at Parsons be made to change the situation.
Parsons Sync is a tool built across the Internet and mobile platform to help Parsons students locate school events that are relevant to their interests. Parsons Sync selects the relevant event information, and displays it instantly on the student’s mobile phone. With Internet connection, the student can browse school events that are interesting to him/her without taking the effort to look for the information himself/herself, anytime, anywhere.
