The accessibility of software and advanced technology has greatly overshadowed the analog tools and techniques that remain from before the digital age. The rapid evolution of digital technology excites us with new and innovative features that are convenient, but at the same time, the society as a whole runs the risk of losing the human values of the past as they fade away with the analog technologies that are becoming obsolete. I asked myself, “What would be the best narrative/visual approach to reinforce the values associated with the analog technologies that have become obsolete?” Thinking about the human values associated with past technology often is very emotional because our nostalgia for the past is closely tied up with those technologies. “B-612” attempts to deliver the message by creating a narrative that evokes this nostalgia.
