Belief Brand Cigarettes is a project exploring the controversy and unique relationships that exist between the worlds of religious identity and physical dependence. Identity is an inescapable aspect of our daily lives, one that extends beyond physicality and appearance and often defines cultures and beliefs alike. Belief Brand Cigarettes is an experiment into the ability of package design to identify the intangible, while also raising questions on both the positive and negative aspects of religious devotion. These cigarette packages serve as physical reminders of the seductive quality religion offers as well as the underlying dangers that come with over-consumption and fanaticism.
