My thesis challenges the belief that video games directly cause gun-related violence in schools. I was motivated to pursue this topic when I learned of the media's practice of falsely accusing video games for the deeds of mentally disturbed individuals who have committed homicide on school grounds. I believe that the media has a negative impact on the public's perception by its distortion of the truth. In an attempt to reduce the gap between common misconception and the reality of school shootings, I plan to expose the media's distribution of false information to the public.
Furthermore, I will strive to provide direct links to scientific studies that help people better understand this grisly topic. I plan to do such by creating a legitimate web platform that creates awareness and distributes unfiltered research results.
