Description

My Emily is a short animation that examines dark human desires such as sexuality and voyeurism. The pivotal purpose of this project 1s creating a stop-motion animation that successfully tells a story about a miserable stalker, who is obsessing over his neighbor, Emily through non-verbal dialogue and aesthetics, which include lighting and set design.

People are always worried about losing their existence in our society because they are isolated from social communities, and they are surrounded by internal darkness. So I want to project our real life into this short animation that can examine human condition, which is an issue in modem society.

Moreover, to illustrate our real life I chose a puppet animation as a medium for this project because people are used to portraying our emotion into a puppet very easily since a period of infancy and playing with dolls. Therefore, I hope people have an opportunity to rethink and share their internal darkness in a psychological aspect through this stop-motion animation.
