Details for the gates at the top of the stairs from the library on the fourth floor of the New School for Social Research's building at 66 West 12th Street to the exhibition gallery on the fifth floor above. After the Graduate Faculty formed in 1933, noise from the fifth floor distracted those studying in the library. The stairways were closed off.
