This audio recording covers two lectures from the Vera List Center-sponsored conference, Considering Joseph Beuys.

Lecture by Cornelia Lauf titled, "The Codices of Beuys and The Unknown Leonardo: Two Artists' Books and a Commission." Lauf discusses Beuys's 1974-1975 Codices Madrid series of drawings, which were inspired by the 1965 discovery of two "lost" Leonardo da Vinci sketchbooks. Lauf concludes at 28:35.

At 39:57 the second lecture, "Beuys' Warcolors" by Ariane Grigoteit, begins. Grigoteit also discusses the work of Albrecht Durer. Grigoteit continues on to Side B, concluding at 43:14 on Side B.
