Description

An office during or after an occupation of the Graduate Center of the New School for Social Research, formerly located at 65 Fifth Avenue in New York City. A hand-painted sign identifies the room as an "occupied office." Signs covering the window read, "Free Bobby!" -- a reference to Black Panther Bobby Seale -- while another sign features a popular caricature of President Richard Nixon depicted as a pig. Fernandez was a photography instructor at the New School for Social Research and a documentary photographer.
