Description
David Mannes, founder of the Mannes College of Music, leads a performance on the balcony of the Great Hall of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Mannes initiated the Great Hall Concerts in 1905 and continued to conduct them until 1949. These events were among the best-attended at the Metropolitan Museum, with audiences in the thousands.
