Description

Part 1: Mark Mack presents his neo-primitivism theory (counter movement to post-modernism). Post-modernism: ridicules its predecessor; indulgent; nihilistic; architecture in drag. Neo-Primitivism: an act of purification, overcoming architectural decadence. He discusses, at length, New Doricism. Mack presents his work: series of drawings reflecting his desire to work more quickly; addition to his suburban house and other California residences. Construction techniques in Europe versus the US. Expresses his affinity for Loos.
