Floor-length evening dress featuring a plunging v-shaped neckline, short capped sleeves, rows of narrow trim near the bottom hem of the skirt, and narrow trim that crosses over the chest and forms a thick waistband. The sketch includes a small view of the back of the dress that shows a second plunging v-shaped neckline, closures on the waistband, and a panel of loose pleats extending down the center of the back skirt. The sketch also includes two small swatches of sheer dark navy fabric (ribbed and flat) with tags from "FSD Lyon" fabrics. A very similar dress that is attributed to Orrick is currently housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's costume collection.
