Description
Navy blue satin shirt dress with a rolled collar, full gathered skirt, and a self-satin sash tied into a flat bow on the front waist with long ends hanging below. The description indicates that this dress was intended to be worn for an informal fall wedding, which is why it is worn with a white bridal orchid on the proper right chest, held with a diamond horseshoe brooch from Cartier. The model also wears a diamond bracelet, engagement ring, and floral ear-clips from Cartier, as well as a white ermine pillbox hat with a soft white plume, sheer navy blue veil, and diamond feather pin, also from Cartier. The photograph was sent with a press release issued by the advertising agency N. W. Ayer & Son, Inc., and can be found with the accompanying letter in Box OSx-1, Folder 1.
