Fred Greenhill fashion illustrations ➔ Wedding Party and Guests Featuring Bride in Patterned Dress with Watteau Train
19.5 in (width) x 18 in (height)
Wedding party and guests wearing formal attire by unknown designers. The bride wears a white columnar dress with a floor-length skirt, short sleeves, and what appears to be a wateau style back panel that forms a short train that cascades across the floor. The dress also appears to include a floral pattern and what is perhaps a latticework pattern on the bottom of the skirt, which is also found at the bottom of the train. The wedding gown is worn with short gloves and a flyaway veil with flowers at the top of the head that match a small bouquet held in the bride's hand. Two bridesmaids hold similar bouquets and wear floral patterned dresses with short sleeves and floor-length skirts that appear to be slightly more flared than the bottom of the bride's dress. Other wedding guests wear suits and both long and short dresses, one of which is paired with a patterned turban. This image was presumably used for one of the many department store advertisements that were illustrated by Greenhill.
