This collection consists of the papers of Jeffrey Goldfarb, the Michael E. Gellert Professor of Sociology at The New School. The collection contains teaching files; materials relating to Goldfarb's work and research in Poland; correspondence; and manuscripts and proofs for Goldfarb's books, including After the Fall, Cynical Society, and Beyond Glastnost. Also included are manuscripts of papers delivered at conferences, book reviews, book prospectuses, and materials relating to Goldfarb's studies at the University of Chicago. Also found herein are materials pertaining to the Democracy Seminar, including 46 audiocassettes primarily ranging from 1984-1989. Among printed material included in this collection are 11 issues of an "irregular mini-magazine condensing newspaper reports of the Vietnam War into handmade pictorial narratives; published by Bread and Puppet Theater."
