My photographs document everyday people’s collections, capturing the beauty, quirkiness, and intensity that form a collector’s interest. The work examines both the literal meaning of an object and its relationship to the collector’s identity, turning the collectors themselves into the subject. As an anthropologist and an artist, I use photography to uncover people’s stories by documenting their collection. These objects not only reveal their desires or personality traits, they also prompt the viewer to question what their own collections reveal about themselves.
