Maria Sprowls Cervantes

My photographic practice seeks to address the fractures underlying human relationships. I highlight the discourse that revolves around human interactions; around the fissures between two bodies. I construct and seek awkward social situations that are normally brushed off or forgotten, using performance, audio, text, and photography to abide and elevate them unto a new level. A level in which intimacy is recorded, uncovered and aestheticized.
