1934 – 1937
9 in (width) x 11.75 in (height)
Shirtdress featuring a small collar, front placket, elbow-length dolman-cut sleeves, and a midi-length skirt with large inverted pleats. The skirt appears to have lines of tucking connected to the inverted pleats towards the top, which possibly form the narrow stripe designs found on the bodice and sleeves. The sketch includes a swatch of black woven fabric (possibly cotton) with a tag from the New York location of the French fabric house Bianchini-Férier.
