Description

Traina-Norell's revival of a quilted Victorian "hug-me-tight" vestee worn over a short-sleeved monochrome wool dress. The photograph was sent with a press release issued by the advertising agency N. W. Ayer & Son, Inc., which can now be found with the accompanying photo in Box OSx-2, Folder 1, along with numerous editorials and advertisements depicting this look. The press release indicates that the model is wearing antique diamond jewelry from the collection of Charles Walker at the Petit Musée, including a tiny diamond timepiece that hangs from a diamond crown pin. Additionally, the model wears a Norell-designed velour sailor hat with veil that is embellishment with coq feathers and a "very rare curved plume" covered with diamonds.
